Moss was born February 13, 1977. He is an American footballer. He was a former
American football player who played 14 seasons within the National Football
League (NFL) and was a part of the Minnesota Vikings and Oakland Raiders and
the New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans. The most admired wide receiver
in history alongside Jerry Rice, he holds the NFL single-season touchdown
reception record (23 in 2007) as well as the NFL single-season touchdown
reception record for rookies (17 in 1998) and is ranked second in the NFL
all-time regular season touchdown list, with 156. Moss was famous for his skill
in securing the contested catch, and "mossed" is now a term used in
football. After his career in football, he started working as a studio analyst
for ESPN for the Sunday NFL Countdown program and Monday Night Countdown. Moss
was born in Rand, West Virginia. He attended DuPont High School. It was one of
two schools which eventually merged to form Riverside High School. There he
excelled at football, basketball track, track and other sports. Randy was also
part of the school’s debate team. Moss led the DuPont Panthers football team to
two consecutive state championships in 1992, 1993. Moss was a star wide
receiver. He also played free safety and punt return. He received the Kennedy
Award for West Virginia Football Player of the Year in 1994. Parade magazine
named him to their All-American high school football teams in the year 1995. In
2009 they named him as one of the 50 greatest high-school football players of
all-time.
