Abi Clarke
In the olden
days, i.e. in the early 2020s comedians might have had the opportunity to be
performing for years in the UK before being invited onto a TV panel and selling
out arena tours. This isn't the case right now. Comedy is one of the art forms
that can continue to be performed front of a live audience, however, we'll
probably not see arena tours any time soon. One Bristol comedian, however, has
managed to attract an immense global audience during lockdown via social media.
Making it big on the internet isn't something that Abi Clarke was hoping to
achieve. Abi, 24 lives in Henbury. She began creating videos online "to
establish a community of like-minded people who could appreciate my standup
comedy." "I performed a lot in Devon to guys in their 50s that
weren't as hot on my Love Island Sims and Twilight references, so I decided to
search online for other young women who would enjoy my stand-up comedy."
Abi, who lives in Hen bury with her parents continues to upload her videos to
Instagram, Twitter, and Tik Tok. She finds inspiration from many sources,
including conversations with strangers, chat room, and writing down her
thoughts on her phone.
